I work with photography, sound, words and audiovisual, creating exhibitions inspired by community engagement (Antarctica, Scotland, Canada, Australia, Bolivia) and facilitating workshops since 2002. In 2007 I was pARTners Artist in Residence on Bute. Developing on this work, Walking the Bridge, 2009, linked Scotland Island in Australia with Bute, and the soundscape later became a feature programme for ABC Radio National. The work further developed into an exploration of the Canadian community of Rothesay for Scottish Year of Homecoming. More recently, Grounded opened conversations between Scottish Gaelic speakers and Australian Aboriginals. Grounded was exhibited during Glasgow Commonwealth Games Cultural Festival and is currently touring Queensland. Following Grounded I worked with National Theatre Scotland, developing photographic projections for Gaelic theatre. This was also shown in 2017 at The Edinburgh Fringe and 2018 Celtic Connections.
